Hey Americans...

... or United staters... or yanks... or freedom bringers... or whatever the hell you call yourselves over there. It is clear that as the british and the 'you guys' are vastly different on many levels so being inevitably once in a while a question will present itself as to what the dickins you are talking about... today, such a present questioned itself... here it is-

What do you mean when you say 'you bet' ?

As in...

'hey high five, thanks for the like wow, baseball glove'

'you bet' (high five)

or

'can i have a massive doughnut?' (high five)

'you bet' (a different high five)

In exchange for any information on this subject i will gladly answer your queries on 'jellied eels', 'rag and bone men', 'jammy dodgers', 'end of the pier comedians', 'dry stone walls' and or 'cockney knees up spousal abuse'

"You bet" can be used the same way that I have been hearing "no worries" or as I have used it, as "you are welcome".

I don't have a language question for you, but I received a can of Spotted Dick for xmas. Could you please tell me what I should do with it?

So far as spotted dick is concerned you should throw it out of the window and fill the dessert hole left behind with some rhubarb and custard

I was able to dig this up but I'm not sure it really clarifies anything...

Explain Blackpool. Please.

well Will, Blackpool seemed like a good idea on paper but then the glaswegians arrived and began enjoying the paint off the place and upon the invention of cheap foreign holidays (or 'vacations' if you are currently wearing loud shorts, a 'fanny' pack and looking for some badly fried chicken) everyone else buggered off to ruin spain
